Documents

Revision Histories document changes in either software or hardware.  These revisions can be made for a variety of reasons; internal changes which do not affect the use of the product, changes to correct discrepancies between the product and its documentation, product improvements or changes that solve a problem. If your product has a different revision than that of the latest release, it does not necessarily mean your product is defective or requires an upgrade.

Tsunami TSU-1000 Digital Sound Decoder

January 11, 2006

Firmware Revision Identification Code
The Tsunami's firmware revision is encoded as xx.yy.zz and may be determined by resetting the decoder CVs to default values and reading the values in CV 7, CV 105, and CV 106 as follows:

xx = CV 7, major revision code
yy = CV 105, minor revision code
zz = CV 106, default CV value configuration

CV 7 is a read-only CV and may not be changed. CV 105 and 106 are designated as User Information codes and may be modified freely. Resetting the decoder to its default values will restore the revision codes found in these two CVs.

Revision History
Version 64.01.05
Release Date: January 11, 2006

1. Improved long address programming compatibility with Digitrax products.

2. Added CV Lock Enable Feature. To use the CV Lock feature implemented in CV 15 and 16, Bit 0 of CV 30 must first be set to 1 (the default value is 0). This is to avoid inadvertently locking the decoder when the CV Lock feature is not needed.

Version 64.00.00
Release Date: November 12, 2005
Initial Production Release

Known Issues

1.0 Extended (4-Digit) Addresses may not program on Digitrax command stations using paged or direct mode programming.

Workaround: Use operations mode programming to set the extended address in CV 17 and CV 18. Then set bit 5 of CV 29 to enable the long address.

Resolution: This problem has been corrected with firmware release 64.01.05 for direct mode programming.
Note: The PTB-100 Program Track Booster is required to use the program track of all Digitrax systems.

2.0 Operations Mode Programming may not work with certain North Coast Engineering command stations while locomotive is moving.

Workaround: Set the locomotive speed to zero before using operations mode programming.

Resolution: This is due to a problem in the NCE command station and not the Tsunami. Contact North Coast Engineering for an update that corrects this problem.
